Choosing the Right Glass Cleaners

October 9th, 2018 by Ima Admin

Glass cleaners can be used to clean a variety of surfaces. The term “glass cleaner” is a general term given to cleaners that clean without leaving streaks. This quality makes them especially useful when cleaning shiny surfaces, like glass, chrome, steel and more.

It is important to keep glass clean and clear. Dirt and debris on windows can actually cause damage to the glass. Dirt and dust can etch into the glass and cause scratches and blemishes. It is also important to keep full visibility through a car windshield while driving.

DeVere has many options when it comes to glass cleaners, so you may be wondering, which is the right glass cleaner for you? Every glass cleaner we offer has something that sets it apart from our other cleaners, you just need to know what you are cleaning and how you need to clean it. Our wide range of glass cleaners can solve any glass cleaning need you may have.

Our Glass Cleaners:

  • Window Cleaner (Ready-to-Use) – This product removes dirt, minerals, oil, and grease stains from glass, windows, mirrors, fixtures, chrome and other washable hard surfaces. Window Cleaner is lightly ammoniated to optimize soil removal and drying. Simply spray and wipe to clean away most light soils.
  • Window Cleaner Concentrate – Dilute 1 part to 9 parts water to make Window Cleaner (Ready-to-Use).
  • Green Glass and Surface Cleaner – An all-purpose cleaner that quickly cleans windshields, windows, and other hard surfaces. This product complies with the U.S. EPA’s Design for Environment (DFE), Green Seal, and other recognized environmental stewardship, safety, and sustainability standards.
  • C-Clear – A convenient aerosol with a thick, white foam that clings to surfaces for ease of use. Use this product to quickly remove even challenging soils like wax from reflective and transparent surfaces.
  • Vista Max™ – An all-weather aerosol windshield cleaner that cleans and polishes regardless of the temperature.
  • Pure Clean – An all-purpose, hydrogen peroxide-based cleaning concentrate that works extremely well on glass when diluted 1 part to 255 parts water (0.5 oz/gal). This is the most cost-effective cleaning concentrate available including glass cleaners.
  • Windshield Wash Concentrate – Ideal for gas station island wash buckets, especially in the winter as it has a very low freezing temperature.
  • WOW, All Purpose Cleaner – A powerful, highly concentrated general purpose cleaner that works well in windshield wash buckets.
  • WOW50 – A less aggressive version of WOW. This product is NPE-free and non-hazardous according to DOT regulations.

Product Announcement: Security Floor Sanitizer

August 22nd, 2018 by Ima Admin

Security Floor Sanitizer is the only EPA-registered, crystalline sanitizer that kills bacteria by oxidation.  This product will improve environmental sanitation for floors, entryways, entry mats, containment devices, drain covers, and external areas surrounding drains where conditions allow microorganism growth and cause sanitation concerns.

This product is the only dry entryway control product, drain care product, and floor sanitizer that kills bacteria by oxidation.  When activated, this product generates hydrogen peroxide and a small amount of chlorine to accelerate activity.

Security Floor Sanitizer does not contain quaternary ammonium chloride (quat) and meets all standards for certification as organic.  Not containing quat means this product does not contribute to the creation of superbugs as the U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) has empirically associated with quats. The NIH has been building a case against quats for several years. They published two extensive studies that show how using quat at subinhibitory levels (which can not be avoided in wet environments like drains) will create quat-resistant microorganisms.

Article 1 (2002): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC129876/
Article 2 (2016): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4852299/

Security Floor Sanitizer is great for sanitizing many different floor areas where sanitization is a concern. This product is also an entryway control product and a drain care product. Security Floor Sanitizer is meant for industrial application in federally inspected food processing facilities, federally inspected meat and poultry plants, dairies, wineries, breweries, beverage manufacturing facilities, dairy facilities, swine farms, poultry and turkey farms, farm premises, hatcheries, refrigerated trucks, kennels, zoos, pet shops, animal laboratories, veterinary facilities, animal care facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, institutions, industrial sites, schools, restaurants, food handling and processing areas, and institutional kitchens.

Security Floor Sanitizer has been evaluated using the Non-Food Contact Surface Sanitizer Test and proven effective against the following organisms:

Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 15313)                                 Enterobacter aerogenes (ATCC 13048)

What is the Best Foaming Hand Soap for Your Facility?

July 3rd, 2018 by Ima Admin

Are you looking for the best foaming hand soap for your facility? While it used to be rare to see foaming hand soaps, it is now common. This change has had a profound effect on efforts to prevent the spread of germs including bacteria and viruses.

Now that foaming hand soaps are common, it is important to understand how people should wash vs. how they do wash their hands with these products. The U.S. Center for Disease Control recommends scrubbing hands for 20 seconds while washing. The average person’s total handwashing time is about 6 seconds (link).

It is also important to evaluate the characteristics of foaming hand soaps and/or sanitizers to protect people who enter an establishment from the transfer of germs. Some hand and body cleaners are harsh on the skin and strip the body’s natural oils from its surfaces. Other cleaners are too gentle and do not remove soil quickly enough to be effective during the average hand wash. Taking these points into consideration, DeVere, formulated (arguably) the best foaming hand soaps and related products with specific benefits, including quick (6 seconds or less) cleaning and skin protection.

The hand sanitizer, best foaming hand soap and liquid soap products manufactured by DeVere include:

  • Bac-Off: Alcohol-free, quaternary, foaming hand sanitizer with glycerin and aloe
  • Fresh Foam Disinfectant Soap: Green, high-foam, efficient and gentle, FDA-listed hand soap with 0.4% PCMX… the most PCMX in any commercially-available disinfectant soap
  • Fresh Foam Hand Soap: Orange, high-foam, efficient and gentle soap that will quickly remove tough, greasy soils
  • Fresh Foam Shower Soap: Blue high-foam, efficient and gentle soap and shampoo combination that removes dirt and grime without fading or damaging hair
  • Liquid Hand Soap 100: Pink gel soap that foams well, cleans a variety of soils, and contains glycerin to hydrate skin

All the products listed above are available with a matching DeVere soap dispenser. You can purchase these products in cartridges made to fit in the best foaming soap cartridge dispenser or in bulk gallons to fill existing dispensers such as DeVere’s bulk foam soap dispenser.

At DeVere, we formulate, produce and stock cleaning chemicals for a global customer base. HACCP Entryway Control Requirements

May 16th, 2018 by Ima Admin

Food safety is a large concern for companies that produce or handle food in any way. Food processing plants, restaurants, bakeries and other venues must follow food safety guidelines to eliminate potential food hazards. HACCP or Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point is a management system that addresses food safety in all stages of handling from raw material, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption.

HACCP certification is an international standard that defines the requirements for effective control of food safety. It is built around seven principles:

  • Conduct hazard analysis of biological, chemical or physical food hazards
  • Determine critical control points
  • Establish critical control limits, minimum cooking temperature and time
  • Establish a system to monitor control of critical control points
  • Establish corrective actions
  • Establish procedure for verification to confirm the HACCP system is working effectively
  • Establish documentation and record keeping

DeVere Company chemists are on the leading edge of cleaning and sanitization technology. DeVere has patented, and other high-technology solutions to meet all the HACCP food safety and sanitation needs of food processing facilities and more.
